What is a step-up transformer and what is the working principle of a step-up transformer?

In many electronic application scenarios, people will use step-up transformers, but you may not know the working principle of step-up transformers, so it is very troublesome to choose.

1. The working principle of the step-up transformer is that when there is an alternating current in the primary coil, an alternating magnetic flux will be generated in the iron core (or magnetic core), causing a voltage (or current) to be induced in the secondary coil. The transformer is composed of an iron core (or magnetic core) and a coil. The coil has two or more windings. The winding connected to the power supply is called the primary winding, and the other windings are called the secondary winding. In a generator, whether the coil moves through the magnetic field or the magnetic field moves through the fixed coil, the electromotive force can be induced in the coil. In both cases, the value of the magnetic flux does not change, but the amount of magnetic flux intersecting with the coil is different. Change, this is the principle of mutual induction. A transformer is a device that uses electromagnetic mutual induction to transform voltage, current and impedance.

2. According to the principle of electromagnetic induction, when a conductive object is in a changing magnetic field, current can be induced in the conductive body. When the transformer is connected to the AC grid, the current is input to the primary coil of the transformer, and at this time, a magnetic field is generated around the transformer. As the current direction of the input alternating current changes continuously, a magnetic field that changes in synchronization with the current will be generated, and the generated magnetic field will form a closed loop along the iron core of the transformer. As the size and direction of the magnetic field are constantly changing, a current is induced in the secondary coil. Because the voltage on each coil is equal, the more turns of the secondary coil, the higher the voltage output from the secondary coil.

3. The working principle of the step-up transformer is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. The transformer has two sets of coils, a primary coil and a secondary coil. The secondary coil is outside the primary coil. When the primary coil is energized with alternating current, the transformer core generates an alternating magnetic field, and the secondary coil generates an induced electromotive force. The turns of the transformer coil The number ratio is equal to the voltage ratio.

4. The working principle of step-up transformer and step-down transformer is the same: electromagnetic conversion. When an AC voltage is applied to the primary winding to pass an AC current, an alternating magnetic field will be induced (the transformer is usually made of a high-permeability material to provide a magnetic circuit), and the alternating magnetic field will induce a voltage in the secondary winding. By adjusting the number of turns of the primary winding and the secondary winding, different voltage ratios can be obtained, that is, voltage conversion can be carried out. This is the function and working principle of the transformer.
